Tim’s practice is primarily that of an appellate litigator.  He also represents clients in business litigation and employment matters.   Tim has read every published decision from the Rhode Island and United States Supreme Courts from October 2012 to the present.  He is an excellent researcher, writer and drafter, and persuasively applies the facts to the law both in written and oral form.  He researches a wide array of issues arising in civil and criminal litigation, and monitors legal developments in state and federal courts.    Tim has significant expertise in criminal reentry issues, and assisted in the creation and ongoing support of H.O.P.E. Court, the first federal reentry court in Rhode Island.

During law school, Tim earned Senior Research Honors for legal writing and research, and was awarded the Arlyn Miner Book Award for excellence in legal writing.  He also assisted the plaintiff’s case in Munaf v. Geren, 553 U.S. 674 (2008), a case argued before the United States Supreme Court, while the case was pending before the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before law school, Tim served as executive director of a non-profit organization and as the board secretary to a national trade association for the bicycle industry.  Tim has bicycled across the United States twice and is a member of the Brown University Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 1994 Brown Men’s Crew team.
